Making optimal use of breastfeeding for birth spacing: planning for action within the health sector

Published in JHL in 1986, this paper predates LAM (the “lactation amenorrhea method”). It promotes a completely different vision, suggesting health workers teach mothers who do not want to (or are allowed to) use modern contraceptive methods how to optimize the birth spacing effects of breastfeeding.
