Published in the Journal of Human Lactation among a series of papers on this topic, I warned that “AIDS Hysteria” could do more harm than the disease itself if it led to poor families avoiding immunizing or breastfeeding their infants if care was not taken in communication on these potential sources of spread of the infection.
