In 1998 it became clear that WHO, UNICEF and UNAIDS had “quietly” changed their policy on this issue. Michael Latham and I wrote an article strongly questioning their new approach and this is the longer version. Lancet published a shorter one.

There are literally hundreds of books about breastfeeding
to choose from. I’ve tried below to sort
out some of the most reliable, most up to
date books on a variety of breastfeeding-related
subjects to recommend, giving a little comment on each.
Another great gift, not available from Amazon, is a membership in Baby Milk Action, which includes a subscription to a paper copy of their newsletter, my favorite of the excellent ones various IBFAN groups issue.
