Supplementing lactating women with pureed papaya and grated carrots improved vitamin A status in a placebo-controlled trial

Thoko Ncube did this fascinating randomized clinical trial in a drought-prone area of western Zimbabwe. Published in the prestigious Journal of Nutrition, it showed that these foods worked better than might have been expected.
